As a federally regulated employer, Day & Ross aligns with the Accessible Canada Act, which sets a national goal of a barrier-free Canada by January 1, 2040. At Day & Ross, accessibility goes beyond compliance. It’s about designing our workplace so barriers are identified early, removed thoughtfully and prevented wherever possible.
Our Accessibility Plan serves as a roadmap for this work. It outlines how we are strengthening accessibility across the employee experience – from recruitment and training to technology, communication and our physical environments. The plan also reflects our commitment to listening, learning and improving as we go. Accessibility doesn’t always require complex solutions. Often, it’s about making thoughtful choices in the work we do each day.
While accessibility is a shared responsibility, leadership plays an important role in turning intention into action. Recently, that leadership was recognized beyond our organization.
Charlene Prosser, our Manager, Workplace Wellness, Leaves & Accessibility, was recently named a 2025 Accessible NB Award recipient, an honour that celebrates individuals and organizations making meaningful improvements to accessibility in New Brunswick.
In her role at Day & Ross, Charlene has been instrumental in advancing accessibility planning and collaboration. Her work with Accessible NB helped ensure our accessibility efforts consider the full employee lifecycle and her outreach to peers in the transportation industry has supported broader conversations around shared learning and best practices.
We congratulate Charlene on this recognition and thank her for the leadership, care and collaboration she brings to accessibility work every day.
