In 2019, we made a four-year commitment to hire 25 refugees in collaboration with Tent Partnership for Refugees and McCain Foods. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve already surpassed our goal.
Focusing on major city centers across Canada, we worked with local community partners like ACCES Employment to connect refugees to job opportunities throughout our company that aligned with their skills. Our new hires have filled roles in areas like HR, maintenance, dispatch, and our docks.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting refugees in our communities, Day & Ross also participates in refugee mentorship programs alongside ACCES to support newcomers in making professional connections and building successful careers.
We’re proud to provide meaningful career opportunities to newcomers and create a workplace where everyone belongs. We believe that this initiative has enriched our workplace with diverse perspectives, and we thank everyone who played a role in welcoming our new team members.
