How it works

To intern on the road with us, you need to complete: 

  • Phase 1: Classroom instruction with an approved driving school
  • Phase 2: Behind-the-wheel Training with a qualified Driver Trainer (driving school)

You also need to pass the Class 1 CDL exam to be legally employed as a commercial driver for Day & Ross and move onto the next phase:

  • Phase 3: A 4-week internship with a minimum of 100 hours of behind-the-wheel driving with us

Eligibility Criteria & Application Process

To be considered for this program, you must:

  • Be eligible to work in Canada and the province of the program where you’re applying
  • Have a clean Driver’s Abstract with no active suspensions
  • Pass a background check
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Agree to work for Day & Ross for a minimum of 12 consecutive months after graduation from an accredited driving school and having received your Class 1 Commercial Driving License (CDL).
