Our Driver Internship Program gives you the experience and confidence you need to kick-start your driving career at a top carrier. Designed in partnership with Trans-Canada College in Moncton, NB, the 12-weeks program provides training, ongoing mentorship, and a path to full-time employment.

How it works

To complete the Driver Internship Program, you must complete a 12-week competency-based program consisting of:

  • Phase 1: 4 weeks of classroom instruction (Trans-Canada College)
  • Phase 2: 4 weeks Behind-The-Wheel Training with a qualified Driver Trainer (Trans-Canada College)
  • Phase 3: 4 weeks Internship (Day & Ross)
Upon completion of the driving school program (Phases 1 and 2), you must successfully pass the Class 1 CDL exam in order to be legally employed as a commercial driver for Day & Ross. To receive the Internship Certificate you must complete Phase 3 with a minimum of 100 hours driving Behind-The-Wheel.

Eligibility Criteria & Application Process

To be considered for this program, you must:

  • Be eligible to work in Canada and New Brunswick
  • Have a clean Driver’s Abstract with no active suspensions
  • Pass a background check
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Agree to work for Day & Ross for a minimum of 12 consecutive months after graduation from an accredited driving school and having received your Class 1 Commercial Driving License (CDL).
