Day & Ross Supports Local Community during COVID-19 Crisis

April 9, 2020, HARTLAND, NB: As a committed member of their community and an essential service, Day & Ross is showing their support for frontline healthcare workers and local agencies in need of critical supplies in New Brunswick. The company donated 12 skids of food goods to Valley Food Bank today to help support the charity’s important work as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Some of these items will also be distributed through local charities Hartland Helpers and Grocery Angels to support families in need. This food donation is in addition to the $3,000 Day & Ross donated to Hartland and Woodstock charities last week.

“We are so thankful that we have a community that rallies together and works together,” said Sandra Olmstead, Executive Director of Valley Food Bank in Woodstock, NB. “It is wonderful to see that we have the business sector stepping up. They have picked up the flag and are continuing to go with it.”

Day & Ross also worked with Moonshine Creek, a distillery in Waterville, NB to switch over their production to alcohol-based hand sanitizer, an item in high demand during the pandemic. They supported this effort by donating ingredients and supplies, manual labour, and delivery/ transportation. As part of this initiative, 1,000 litres of hand sanitizer was donated to the Horizon Health Network for the healthcare teams in their facilities.

“At Day & Ross, we’ve been serving our local community for 70 years, and we’re committed to giving back in this time of need,” said Kevin Chase, CFO. “This was a team effort with Moonshine Creek, and we’re encouraged by how our community has rallied together during this crisis.”
