Are you ready for CARM?

Transborder shipping - flags of the United states and Canada

On May 13, 2024, the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) system will become the official system of record for importers and other trade chain partners (TCPs) to account for their goods and pay for their duties and taxes. The cutover period for system migration runs from April 26 to May 13.

Register for CBSA CARM before April 26 to avoid delays on your cross-border shipping.

What happens during the cutover period?

  • The CARM Client Portal (CCP) won’t be available.
  • Some CBSA legacy systems will be retired, like Customs Commercial System (CCS) and the Customs Automated Data Exchange (CADEX).
  • Customs Self-Assessment (CSA) enrolment activities will be paused.
  • Partners in Protection (PIP) enrolment remains available in the Trusted Trader Management System (TTMS).

Who’s impacted by CARM?

  • Customs bonded warehouse licensees
  • Importers of commercial goods
  • Customs brokers
  • Trade consultants
  • Financial security providers
  • TCPs
