Driver Apprenticeship Program Launches in Michigan

Driver Apprenticeship Program

We are excited to announce we are launching a Driver Apprenticeship Program. The competency-based program, currently open to Michigan residents, offers tuition reimbursement in partnership with Michigan Works! and a 12-month paid driving contract with a tiered approach to driving assignments, additional training, and ongoing mentorship from a certified Day & Ross Driver Trainer.

“This program reflects our commitment to helping new drivers gain the skills and confidence needed to start a successful professional driving career,” said Shawn McMahon, Chief Operating Officer. “We’re excited to offer apprentices a safety-first culture, coaching from a dedicated Driver Trainer, and advancement opportunities upon completion of the program.”

The program is open to residents of Michigan who are at least 18 years of age, eligible to work in the state, have had a valid driver’s license for one to two years, have a clean driver’s abstract without any active suspensions, and pass a physical, drug, and background check. Applicants must be over 21 years of age to drive out-of-state and transport hazardous materials.
