2026 CVSA Brake Safety Week

2026 cvsa hero

Brake systems are among the most important safety components on a commercial vehicle which is why Day & Ross is proud to support the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) annual Brake Safety Week taking place August 23-29, 2026.

The week-long initiative brings added attention to commercial vehicle brake safety with inspectors conducting targeted brake-system inspections alongside standard roadside inspections. The goal is to identify brake-system violations, promote consistent inspection and maintenance practices and help enhance safety for everyone who shares the road.

This year, Brake Safety Week will place a particular focus on the condition of the drums and rotors. Damage to these components can affect braking efficiency so inspectors will be looking for issues such as cracked or broken drums and rotors, excessive wear, grooves on the rotors, rust and other conditions that can compromise brake performance. These inspections provide an important opportunity to identify potential safety concerns and reinforce the importance of proper brake maintenance across the commercial vehicle industry.

At Day & Ross, safety is a shared responsibility. Supporting initiatives such as Brake Safety Week helps reinforce the importance of well-maintained equipment, consistent safety practices and continued attention to the systems that help keep our drivers and everyone on the road safe.
