The Day & Ross Transportation Group and McCain Foods (Canada) each have been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2014. Both companies are Platinum Club members of the awards program because they have maintained the Best Managed designation for at least six consecutive years. McCain has been recognized for each of the last eight years and Day & Ross for the last nine years.
The national award, sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, the National Post, Queen’s School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums, honours excellence in Canadian owned and managed companies. It is the country’s leading business awards program and measures more than financial performance. It recognizes overall business performance as well as the efforts of the entire organization. The award tells customers, consumers and suppliers that they are dealing with a company committed to excellence.
“It is a tribute to all of the employees at McCain Foods, who have worked incredibly hard to build this great organization,” said Shai Altman, President of McCain Foods (Canada).
John Doucet, President and CEO of the Day & Ross Transportation Group, agrees. "We owe our success as an organization to our people,” he said. “It is because of their capability, dedication and commitment that we are being honoured with this award.”
The national awards program has been recognizing the Best Managed Companies from a wide range of industries since 1993. McCain and Day & Ross will join the other 2014 winners at a gala awards ceremony in Toronto on March 31, where they will officially receive their Platinum Awards.
