On October 1, Day & Ross was recognized by the Women in Trucking Association as one of the 2019 Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation. This is the second year we’ve been honoured for our commitment to gender diversity in the workplace.
In total, the Association received nearly 150 nominations and over 10,000 votes, and we’re proud to be among the 84 companies who received this honour. Respondents were asked to rate their organization on a variety of areas, including competitive compensation and benefits, flexible hours and work requirements, professional development, and career advancement opportunities.
“We are honoured to be recognized for our commitment to being a company that puts people first,” said William Doherty, CEO. “At Day & Ross, we believe everyone belongs, and we strive to create a diverse and empowering environment where each of our employees has the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed.”
A team of Day & Ross employees were on hand to accept the award at the WIT conference in Dallas. “As an attendee at this conference focused on gender diversity, it was very meaningful for me to see Day & Ross recognized for our achievements in this area,” said Gail Hepburn, Operations Supervisor, Day & Ross. “This has always been a great place to work and it’s exciting to celebrate our progress and be part of our journey.”
